We really love rice at our house. Really, really love rice. ALMOST as much as potatoes!!! ;) I'm just not in love with all the sodium and MSG in the boxes of Rice-a-Roni and what not. Thankfully, we have this yummy recipe for one that tastes better than that boxed stuff.
Baked
Rice
2
cups dry rice (NOT minute rice)
1
cube margarine
Saute
for 10 minutes in pan.
Add:
1
tbsp. minced onion
1
tbsp. parsley
Stir
well, pour into large casserole dish.
Add:
6
chicken bullion cubes
6
cups water
Bake covered for
1 hour at 350 degrees
You
can add any vegetable to this such as peas, carrots, celery etc. or
cooked chicken is also very yummy.
I like the versatility of this recipe because although the one I have typed above calls for chicken bullion, you can substitute beef or vegetable bullion to go along with whatever main dish you are serving with it.
