My 24-hour quilt

I call this one my 24 hour quilt.  Simply because it took me about 24 hours from start to finish to complete.  No, that was not a straight 24 hours of cutting, sewing, pressing, and quilting.  I did however complete it in about 3 days which for me, having 2 little ones running around the house, working part-time and it being the week before Christmas.....was a HUGE accomplishment!
Why would I even attempt this at such a busy time of the year?  It was a last minute gift that needed to be done by Christmas Eve.  Otherwise, I like to take my time and enjoy it and relax while I quilt.  It's kind of my "Me Time" if you will.
Here's some pics of the finished product.  I just did a lap-sized merely because of the time issue but the recipient absolutely loved it and without me knowing, it was their favorite color so....yay!

The pattern is the Double Irish Chain.  It's one I have tried before but with a different color scheme and a different border, it was fun to try again.  I added some minky cuddle fabric for the back and did some simple straight line quilting with my walking foot.  I really like how it turned out and can't wait to start on my next quilt project.  :)
