It's that wonderful time of the year when these small towns get together and get into the true spirit and traditions of "The County Fair". While I was growing up, my mom always encouraged us to take place in the 4-H programs and enter our craft projects, sewing projects, and recipes. I always enjoyed doing this and the older I got the harder it was to find time to do so.
After I got married life was always so crazy and busy and I just never found the time to do things and always remembered, too late, to enter something into the fair. Well, this year was an exception. I was a bit nervous seeing that it has been so many years since I have entered something, but I just thought to myself- "What the heck, I'll just do it!" Good thing I did becaue I ended up winning a blue ribbon on both the Apricot-Strawberry Jam (recipe found HERE) and also for my Pickled Beets.
Yay for Me!!! and Yay for small towns and The County Fair!!!
