I sat down with him, started browsing Pinterest a bit, and we came up with some fun games and decor for him.
The kids loved every minute of it and as long as the Birthday Boy was happy with it, I was happy.
Today I just wanted to share with you some pics from the party.
I got the idea for some invites from the blog Rook No. 17.
Check out her post HERE to get instructions of how to make some like this for your own Lego Party.
When all of the guests started to arrive, they chose a Lego mask to wear and got to decide which Lego character was their favorite. That was the name they went by during the party.
The masks were some my cousin had left over from a party she hosted, so I don't have a pattern or tutorial for them. However, with a double layer of yellow felt, a piece of black elastic, some scissors and a marker, you can make a bunch of these in no time at all.
The boys then got to draw their own version of their favorite Lego Man. It was pretty funny to see what they all came up with.
I used this template here:
You can just right click and save it. Then print it as a full page. Each boy got one blank Lego Man.
I also used this template to print off extras on colored paper. We had about 25 hidden around the yard and the boys had to go around counting them (to themselves), and then come back to tell us how many they found. The first one closest to, or who found them all, won a prize.
We played a game of Pin the Pants on the Lego Man. If you have ever seen The Lego Movie, then you know the famous line of "Honey, Where Are My Paaaannts?" It is my son's favorite part of the whole movie so I knew I needed to incorporate that somehow. This is what we came up with, thanks to a quick search on Google Images and a 11x14 print from Walmart.
Here are the photos you are welcome to save to use:
Last was my favorite decor piece of the party, the cake. My Aunt is a very talented cake decorator so when I went to her with a cake idea, she was more than happy to help me out. She and her sister came up with this and I was elated with the result!
We just used some of the Birthday Boy's own Lego figures to decorate it, making it a bit more personal for him.
They all had so much fun, and in the end, that's really all that matters!
I hope you can find a bit of inspiration for you own Lego party.
Link up with me in the comments below. I'd love to see your ideas as well!
